When Hezekiel was approximately four years of age he was placed in Nairobi rescue center by the PCO of Nairobi. He was in need of protection and care after being rescued from a kidnapping. Hezekiel was malnourished and had infection in both eyes when we received him.

Oct, 2009: Auntie Naomi says "Hezekiel is the most hard working of all the boys and is the fastest in helping the younger boys. He is never in trouble. He is so social and it took him just a week to interact freely with the other boys...He doesn't need to be reminded of his chore responsibilities, E.g. cleaning the floor and the table after eating. He is so attentive, especially when something is being explained to him. Cakes and juice are his favorite presents."

Oct, 2009: Phil says "When I first met Hezekiel he was competing with the other five boys to greet me and my nephew David. I could tell from the start that he is a sweet boy, hungry, maybe even starved, for affection from his early years. He is very ticklish. He loves to get all of the attention but doesn't get the chance much with all the other boys around. The first pictures I saw of him he had a mouth full of teeth. In a short three months he had lost his two front top teeth and already had progressed in growing the replacements. He makes it clear that he likes being at Haven much better than the other home that he came from. Hezekiel loves school and is a very fast learner. He is very self assured and pleased with himself when he recites the alphabet, speaks the English words on the wall posters and counts to 100 in English. The more you gush over his accomplishment the bigger his smile gets. He also loves to build things using the Leggo's. His imagination is contagious. He is closest to Kelvin's age and is Kelvin's bud. You can tell that Hezekiel has an uncommon sense of justice for a child of that age. God is with him."

May, 2011: Phil says "Hezekiel is #1 in his school class and is a #1 child. He is extremely well behaved and extremely intelligent and loves our Lord. It is a joy watching him grow. He joined in helping Kelvin as older brother, as they are the two oldest in the Haven family. Great work Hezekiel, we are proud of you."
