Jun, 2008: John Wanjau Nwgure, age seven, is Kelvin’s older brother. As was Kelvin, John was brought from the Kayole slums by the Muranga police and was placed in the Muranga rescue center on 29 May, 2008.

John became our fifth boy on 19 June, 2008. John is a little man. He has taken the role of guardian over Kelvin, making sure that Kelvin has food before he receives any himself. John wants to become a teacher. He has not attended school and is behind in his studies. We are getting a tutor for him so he can catch up. John only knows his tribal Kikuyu language. In Kenya you must know Swahili while attending school. I know that it won’t take long for John to learn because he is very determined. Please keep him in your prayers.

Feb, 2009: Trena says "John is a sweetheart. He does such a great job as the older brother of the home. He likes math and science and does very well in those subjects at school. He likes to examine things and see how they work."

2 Apr, 2009: After two days of suffering with malaria, John went on to spend eternity with our Lord Jesus. John, we loved you as our own son.
